Went to the MINDS school today.I'm not naming the exact school but it's in Queenstown. We were doing our IPW project.Meaning: we were split into a lot of groups .Art and crafts(to teach the kids there to make stuff),Concert(isn't it obvious? That group was to organize a concert for the people there),Music and Movement(Dance for the kids) and backstage(to make props for the concert etc).
Well, for such a small-scale event,it was quite troublesome.Being a extremely busy person with hardly 1 hour a day to call my own (except for the twilight zone between 7 and 8 pm reserved for TV),attempting to chop out adequately-sized photo frames(I was in the Arts and Crafts group-the most boring one,and therefore the one least bothered by critical teachers),was no mean feat.
Let me explain the entire IPW concept:We got the project early in the year, but all the workshops and homework and studies,it was pretty tough to fit it into our schedules. And the teacher didn't emphasize it anyway,so everyone forgot about it.
Then approximately 2-3 months ago, teacher started pushing us about it.THEN everyone started thinking about it,but no effort cos' it didn't sound important to us,with exams + a whole lot more of other stuff.
1-2 months ago:started panicking.Concert group was working extremely hard.Everyone did.But then teacher gave an extremely critical opinion about the skits.Everyone went crazy and started to work real hard.
3 weeks ago:CA2 so no emphasis on that thing.
2 weeks ago: another critical opinion.Everyone were half mad now.No recess,no lunch, and a whole lot of rehearsing.
TODAY:A flop.Everyone were so nervous and the rehearsal got the entire class a unforgettable tongue-lashing.
Actual thing(still today):Went very well but the people weren't listening.
It was very funny...Cos' the backstage people had blown a lot of balloons to put as a backdrop.
Then apparently they had blown too hard or the balloons were too fragile:3 balloons went pop as they put it up.It was funnier than the rehearsal anyway.
Then on the way back to school,we had great fun playing with the balloons.Throw them all over the place and they won't hurt anyone.
At school came the grand finale:A couple of guys put the things down and jumped on them-Magnificent balloon bombing party.
I realize I've not put much about what happened at the school.Looks like it'll have to wait for another day...
