Went to wikipedia.org to search for my name LOL...

Esther (Hebrew: אֶסְתֵּר, Modern Ester TiberianʾEstēr), born Hadassah, was a Jewish queen of the Persian Empire in the Hebrew Bible, the queen of Ahasuerus (traditionally identified with Xerxes I), and heroine of the Biblical Book of Esther which is named after her. The name Esther comes from the Persian word "star".
According to the Esther 2:7,
- Esther was originally named Hadassah. Hadassah means "myrtle" in Hebrew.
-The name Esther is most likely related to the Median word for myrtle, astra, and the Persian word setareh meaning star — the myrtle blossom resembles a twinkling star.
